The remodel team at Village Home Stores has done it again! We have removed yet another (rarely-used) gigantic 90’s Jacuzzi tub and replaced it with a large custom tiled shower. We completely reworked the master bath in this Bettendorf Quad Cities home to become more spacious, practical, and of course gorgeous. Don’t forget that our project management remodel process is not just for kitchen remodels. Village Home Stores can definitely help to transform your bathroom too!
The best-selling “Charcoal Blue” painted finish from our Koch Classic line is shown here on the Prairie doorstyle with Atherly series hardware from Amerock. This cabinet finish is perfect as an accent color on a kitchen island, and we use it a lot in bathroom and home bar cabinetry as well. Many people pause for a moment when we suggest a blue painted finish for their home. But just look at it, this color is great! Charcoal Blue can truly become a neutral finish when part of a great overall design concept like this.
In this Bettendorf home we were able to transform the original shower area into a second vanity space (see above). This added even more storage and a second sink area separate from the other across the room. A feature we love (that you can’t see in a photo) is the voice-controlled medicine cabinet above this sink. You can control lighting and even ask for some tunes all hands free. There is so much to love about this new master bath. Press play below to see a short video tour of the finished space.
Many of the builders we partner with in the Quad Cities area are installing tilled accent rug areas into bathroom spaces. We love that this remodel customer wanted to do the same in their home. With this room being very wide, including the accented tile area at the center takes that large tiled space and adds such a sophisticated look. Too much surfaces covered in one tile can start to look cold and institutional. This accented tile area gives us 5 star hotel vibes and it’s far from cold!
In fact this floor tile is not cold at all… it’s heated! Installing heated floors in a master bath is a feature that you will never regret investing in. Currently it’s Winter in the Midwest, so we don’t even have to sell you on the idea that exiting the shower onto cold tile floors can snatch that zen feeling from you in just a second. And how about a warm towel? Yes please! Just outside of the shower is a heated towel rack waiting for you as you exit.
We created a custom tiled shower design for this home that requires no door. Just a short step over a threshold and inside you have access to grab bars and a shower bench. A half wall near the toilet conceals a tiled niche for toiletries and a tiled bench. A row of Glazzio Mystique Series mirrored tile is a perfect compliment to the blue vanity cabinets.
The main tile in this master bath is from our Florida Tile line in the Ainslee Park series. In this room we used many sizes of “Calacatta Gold” tile. A 12×24″ size is used as the main floor, shower walls, and bench. 2×2″ tiles in the same color are used as the shower floor. A Hexagon mixed mosaic from the same Ainslee Park series is installed as that gorgeous tiled rug area.
Where the half wall meets a panel of fixed glass, we installed a slab of Cambria Quartz to match the vanity tops. The “Summerhill” design by Cambria is one of our favorite neutrals from their line. Warm grays and taupes are blended in a pattern that looks so much like a natural stone. Cambria has so many amazing designs available for the surfaces in your home (and we can get you this color at a great price). Did you you know that with the Cambria AR app you can even “try on” colors with a photo of your existing kitchen or bath? It is so fun to do!
