Groovy Landing Gear

The new Boonedox Groovy Landing Gear is a complete game changer.  Boonedox took the awesome design of the original landing gear and improved it.  Each knuckle is 8 inches long and has gear track spanning all 8 inches on all four sides giving you a total of 32" of gear track on each knuckle of the landing gear.  The 29" landing gear spacer bar also has gear track on one side to give you up to 25 more inches of usable gear track. So you add over 70" of gear track to your arsenal.  

The knuckle is mounted to the top of your kayak utilizing high strength injection molded gussets that attach to the knuckle using a stainless steel track nut.  This gives you a wider range of attachment point options over the old one.  Boonedox still utilizes the "through hull" design with the use of backing plates.

The legs now utilize a square plug that adds more points of contact to the interior of the knuckle.  This new design adds strength to the legs and stiffens them up, which in turn transfers the torque to another location.  Boonedox made an effort to design a "fail point" into the product in hopes that it fails before your kayak may.  This "fail point" is the plastic gussets that hold the knuckle to the kayak.  

The Boonedox Landing Gear is weight rated to 180lbs of total weight (kayak and gear).  The landing gear is designed as a transportation tool and not a storage rack.  Do not store you kayak with the legs down for extended periods of time as this will cause added stress to the kayak and may cause flat spots on the no flat wheels.

Standard Boonedox Landing Gear - this kit will work on pretty much all brands / models of kayaks that do not have specific kits listed below.  This kit comes with a set of the UHMW stiffeners to enable you to create a custom support system to fit your installation point.

Boonedox Landing Gear for Hobie Pro Angler's 2015 - Current models - Each PA kit comes with spacers that have been proven to work with year models from 2015 to current.  The kit also comes with 9" backing plates standard

Boonedox Landing Gear for Hobie Pro Angler 2014 & older - The only difference in this kit and the 2015 - current is the spacers for the h-rail.  The 2014 & older requires a taller spacer to go under the h-rail.

Boonedox Landing Gear for Hobie Outback - This kit will work on ALL Hobie Outbacks.  

Boonedox Landing Gear for Bonafide - This kit is the same as the standard kit except it comes with the UHMW wedge that will go under the knuckle on the top to help level out the knuckles due to the sloped top of the kayak.  This kit may also be used with the Hobie Compass in certain installation locations.

Boonedox Landing Gear HD kit - The HD kit comes with heavier duty legs to help withstand the weight of boats such as the SOLO skiff and the Hobie PA 17T.  This kit has also been used on John boats with small outboard motors.  Each kit comes with 9" backing plates and UHMW stiffener.  **If purchasing for the PA 17T you will need to get the PA Spacer kit as well to raise the h-rail on the PA to allow for the knuckle to go under.  Also for SOLO skiff customers, some customers have reported the need for the UHMW Wedge but not on all applications.  If you do purchase the wedge you will need longer bolts than what comes in the kit.

Boonedox Landing Gear for LIVE SUP - This kit is designed for the LIVE SUP line.  This comes with hardware that utilizes the tracks installed on the LIVE SUP's and does not use backing plates.
