Water Dropper Race is a fun little game for a pack meeting or for an interpatrol activity. Youth will use an eye dropper to transfer water from one container to another. The team or individual with the most water in the end wins.
This game can be a lesson about how doing things quickly doesn’t always give the best results if you aren’t careful also. Teams which are careless will spill more water and will not come out on top at the end.
How to Play Water Dropper Race
Materials
- – one per team
- – two per team
Instructions
- Divide the group into teams.
- Fill one container with water for each team and put it on one end of the play area. Put the same amount of water in each jar.
- Put an empty container for each team on the other end of the play area.
- Give each team a dropper.
- On go, one person from each team will take the dropper and suck up water from their container. Then they will transfer the water to the team’s empty container at the other side of the room.
- They hand the dropper off to the next team member and continue transferring water in this way.
- Play continues until one team has emptied their first container.
- The team with the most water in their container at the end wins. This is not necessarily the team which finished first!
Notes
- Instead of playing until a team empties their container, you can set a time limit.
- They can also play this game as individuals instead of teams.
