BLAKE SHELTON’S OLE RED OPENING EXPECTED LATE 2023: “Barmageddon” star, judge on “The Voice,” and country music legend Blake Shelton is expanding his Ole Red empire out west with a new location under construction on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo on the Strip. The four-story restaurant, bar and music venue slated to open late this year is situated in front of Caesars Entertainment’s Horseshoe Las Vegas as a corner anchor to the Grand Bazaar Shops. At approximately 27,000 square feet with a planned 686 seats, Ole Red Las Vegas is slated to be the brand’s largest location to date and the first in the western United States.The First and Second Floors will feature scratch-made dishes in a laid-back dining area and concert-caliber country music. At night, the space becomes a full-blown honky-tonk with dance floors and designated VIP areas for a Vegas-style Ole Red experience.

JIMMIE ALLEN WILL HEADLINE SUNSET AMPHITHEATER: Country superstar Jimmie Allen is returning to Las Vegas for a special performance at the Sunset Amphitheater at Sunset Station on Saturday, June 24. Tickets start at $42.50. Delaware native Allen has gone from living in his car, to releasing his debut album named for the street he grew up on “Mercury Lane” in 2018, and being named Academy of Country Music’s New Male Artist of the Year in 2021 and becoming the first Black artist to win that category since its inception.

COMEDIAN TOM SEGURA BRINGS HIS TOUR TO THE COSMOPOLITAN: Critically acclaimed comedian, actor and New York Times bestselling author Tom Segura will perform at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan for a two-night engagement March 17-18 as a stop on his 200-plus city “I’m Coming Everywhere – World Tour,” plus three additional dates Aug. 31 and Sept. 1-2.  Segura is best known for his Netflix specials “Completely Normal (2014),” “Mostly Stories” (2016), “Disgraceful (2018),” and “Ball Hog (2020). A natural storyteller, he hosts two successful podcasts, “Your Mom’s House” with his wife Christina Pazsitzky and “2 Bears 1 Cave” with Bert Kreischer. In July 2022, Segura released his New York Times bestselling book “I’d Like to Play Alone, Please.” 

BETFRED AT MOHEGAN SUN SPORTSBOOK OPENS AT VIRGIN HOTELS: Last week, Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook, made its debut. The brand new, state-of-the-art sportsbook is located at Mohegan Casino inside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton. The new sportsbook boasts luxury seating, an expansive video wall with high-definition TVs and over-the-counter wagering. It is the first venture into Nevada by Betfred, one of the largest independent bookmakers in the world, founded in 1967 by brothers Fred and Peter Done. Betfred owns and operates more than 1,400 betting shops in the United Kingdom and entered the U.S. sports betting market in 2019. It is currently licensed in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Louisiana, Arizona, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and Nevada. In addition, Betfred is the proud partner of the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and Vegas Golden Knights. 

GREAT AMERICAN FOODIE FEST CELEBRATES 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY: The Great American Foodie Fest will return to Las Vegas April 28-30 at the College of Southern Nevada West Campus at 6375 W. Charleston Blvd. This food festival is a culmination of the some of the nation’s best specialty food vendors and gourmet food trucks from all around the country which have been featured on the Food Network, Cooking Channel and Travel Channel.  In addition to more than 40-50 innovative food trucks and food vendors, the festival will also feature live entertainment, carnival rides and games, beer garden, eating competitions, arts, craft and retail vendors, and more. The festival will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. General admission for online presales will be $7 on the event’s website and $10 general admission at the gate. 

THE PUNK ROCK MUSEUM SET TO OPEN IN MARCH: The Punk Rock Museum announces plans to debut the world’s most comprehensive attraction dedicated to the history, culture and absurdity of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s bastard stepchild in Las Vegas on Friday, March 10, 2023. The 12,000-square-foot venue is located at 1422 Western Ave. next to a strip club in a gritty industrial area between the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown. The Punk Rock Museum will house not only artifacts and memorabilia from across the world’s punk scene—such as handwritten lyrics, instruments, clothing, photos, flyers and artwork—but also a bar, tattoo parlor, wedding/wake chapel, punk merchandise shop, performance space and more.

YESCO’S EXHIBIT MOVES TO CLARK COUNTY LIBRARY GALLERY: Las Vegas and neon are synonymous with each other. The exhibition “Lighting Up Las Vegas: YESCO Marks a Glittering Century” formerly on display at the East Las Vegas Library will move to the Clark County Library Gallery at 1401 E. Flamingo Road. YESCO, the 103-year-old company is known for creating, repairing and maintaining internationally recognizable signs. The exhibit was originally planned for 2020 to celebrate YESCO’s 100th anniversary, which took place that year, but was delayed due to the COVID pandemic. “Lighting Up Las Vegas” examines the history and impact of YESCO in Las Vegas. In 1958, YESCO’s design for the Stardust set a new standard for signage on the Strip. Designed by Kermit Wayne, the sign wrapped the building in neon and featured three-dimensional planets and comets. It was 216 feet long and 27 feet high. The exhibit will be on display for the public Tuesday, March 21 to Tuesday, May 23. The library opens daily at 10 a.m.

HISTORIC LIDO DE PARIS REVUE LIGHTS UP AGAIN: The Neon Museum, the Las Vegas nonprofit dedicated to collecting and preserving the city’s historic neon signs, brought one of Las Vegas’ most iconic entertainment revues back to “light” last week. Following a months-long restoration process, The Neon Museum celebrated the relighting of the 56-foot-long Lido de Paris sign paying homage to one of the longest-running shows in Las Vegas history and the birthplace of the classic Las Vegas showgirl. The Lido de Paris neon sign marks the 23rd sign restored and re-illuminated by The Neon Museum. It now has a permanent home in its Neon Boneyard exhibition space across from the neon sign for the Stardust, the original home to the Lido. The “Lido de Paris” made a name for itself in Las Vegas as a dance revue and variety show at the Stardust Hotel, paving the way for the legacy of the iconic Vegas showgirl. During its three-decade tenure from 1958 to 1991, the “Lido de Paris” thrilled over 19 million guests with more than 22,000 shows. The venue also played a significant role in launching the career of the famed magician duo Siegfried and Roy, as they premiered their act in the Lido showroom in 1968. The sign was restored as a generous gift from Las Vegas artist and lighting professional Todd VonBastiaans. 

CARLOS SANTANA RETURNS TO THE HOUSE OF BLUES: Carlos Santana and his residency “An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live: Presented by SiriusXM” will return to the House of Blues stage inside Mandalay Bay May 17, 19-21, 24 and 26-28 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $99.50. Santana celebrated his 300th show at House of Blues last November. His residency, rockin’ the intimate House of Blues stage for 10 years now featuring with his band unparalleled dynamic energy for a memorable concert experience.

THE BROKEN YOLK CAFE OPENED ITS SECOND NEVADA LOCATION: The Broken Yolk Café opened its second Southern Nevada location in Henderson on St. Rose Parkway and South Maryland Parkway after much success in Town Square. The same group of owners look forward to opening a spot in Downtown Las Vegas in the future. The new breakfast and brunch spot is at 3458 St. Rose Parkway Suite #10. Hours are daily at 7 a.m. and until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The new Broken Yolk Cafe features a modern design atmosphere, with an open and airy indoor floor plan, a full bar and a covered patio with outdoor seating. Some menu favorites include Crunchy French Toast; Golden State Benedict; and the Fiesta Burrito.

GOSPEL BRUNCH AT HOUSE OF BLUES ADDS MORE PERFORMANCES: The House of Blues Gospel Brunch tradition at Mandalay Bay continues with two special performances on Easter and additional spring and summer dates. House of Blues Gospel Brunch has been a staple of Sunday morning family entertainment around the country for more than two decades. Featuring a rotating cast of the area’s biggest and brightest gospel and R&B talents, guests enjoy traditional and contemporary gospel songs. The all-you-can-eat Gospel Brunch is a non-denominational, immersive celebration of gospel music to help wipe away your troubles and leave you inspired. Upcoming dates include Feb. 19 and 26; March 12 and 26; Easter April 9 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.; along with just added April 23; Maya 7; and June 4, 18 and 25. Tickets for Gospel Brunch are $64.50 and $37.50 for children 3 to 11, plus applicable fees. A portion of ticket sales supports the nonprofit House of Blues Music Forward Foundation.

TIVOLI VILLAGE ANNOUNCES TWO BRAND-NEW RETAIL TENANTS: Tivoli Village has announced two new retail tenants have joined this shopping dining destination…Joeleene Boutique and Clean & Fresh Auto Spa. Joeleene Boutique is a locally owned mother-daughter venture by Maria Serna and Christina Ivanov. What started in 2015 as an online store and pop-up shop has expanded into two brick-and-mortar local locations including the recently opened storefront inside Tivoli Village. THICK & THIN TREAT BAR OPENS IN SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS: Thick & Thin Treat Bar, a unique blend between a juice bar and ice cream parlor from AYYA Hospitality Group – is now open in Southern Highlands offering a variety of options. Located at 10620 Dean Martin Drive, hours are 9 a.m.–9 p.m. daily. The wellness side of the menu provides guests with a range of smoothies, smoothie bowls, fresh-pressed juices, wellness shots and protein shakes. On the indulgent side, Thick & Thin houses an array of signature milkshakes as well as the ability for guests to make their own ice cream-based creations, enhanced with everything from cereal to candy or a variety of sauces. FERRARO’S MARCH TASTE & LEARN FEATURES TENUTA DI ARCENO WINES: Ferraro’s Ristorante’s next Taste & Learn will take place on Saturday, March 25, at 5 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular monthly tasting event providing wine education with an expertly prepared Italian small plates menu by Chef Mimmo Ferraro.
