USC bolsters defense with Alabama LB transfer Shane Lee, Auburn’s Romello Height

USC made two additions to its defense on Sunday with the transfers of former Alabama linebacker Shane Lee and Auburn edge rusher Romello Height.

Lee, whose addition was announced by USC on Twitter, is a former freshman All-American who started due to injuries on the Alabama depth chart as a true freshman in 2019. He led SEC freshmen with 86 tackles, including 6.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks, that season.

But he did not crack the starting lineup as a sophomore and was hindered by a back injury during fall camp in 2021. He played in 11 games as a junior with seven tackles.

The 6-foot, 240-pound Lee will have two seasons of eligibility at USC.

Height announced his transfer on his personal Twitter account. The 6-foot-5 edge rusher played in nine games as a redshirt freshman in 2021, recording 19 tackles and three for loss. He will have three seasons of eligibility at USC.
