Do you decorate for Halloween? I know some people who get their Halloween decorations up at the first of September, and then some that don't do anything. I'm definitely always a late comer to the Halloween decor game. I don't like having skulls and bats up in my house for too long. I usually decorate just the week before....mainly for my kids. Also...in the back of my mind, I'm always thinking that when these skulls get put away, Christmas is going up. Truthfully, I'm so not prepared for that!
Since I don't have my indoor Halloween decorations up too long, I make it super simple. For the most part, I just switch out some pumpkins with skulls! I have a few items that I place around the house also to add to the effect like this owl. For my Halloween mantel, I literally did just what I said...took off pumpkins, added skulls. I got all my skulls a couple of years ago from Michaels when they were deeply discounted. I have a lot as you will see! You can find quite a few good deals on Amazon too! (link here)
This skull has flowers blooming from his head. It's my kids favorite one.
I add these tattered pieces of cloth to some doors and chairs. I have two of these ones in particular so they work great on my barn doors.
The mantel in my front room is my favorite. The amber glasses with candles lend perfectly to the Halloween vibe with the skulls.
As for my entryway, I added a basket of skulls and some creepy little critters crawling up the wall.
These books also turned a little bit older looking with the skull next to it.
For my dining room, I simply switched out the pumpkins on my centerpiece with some skulls. I then added some cut out bats to the wall.
Hope you have a wonderful Halloween!
