The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is the most authentic western lifestyle experience anywhere. If you have been, you know that’s no joke. Denton Black Film Festival

The Denton Black Film Festival has grown into a five-day event that allows you, our guest, to immerse yourself in some of the best artistic showcases of Black cinema, music, spoken word, art, and more. The Denton Black Film Festival was created in order to address under-representation in film and media by giving Black stories an audience and Black creatives a platform. The festival has expanded to the the Denton Black Film Festival Institute and serves filmmakers and creatives of all backgrounds.

Oak Cliff Mardi Gras Parade

This must-see Oak Cliff tradition is sure to be filled with floats, music, and colorful costumes. Be sure to arrive early to grab a spot along the parade route and bring your friends and family for a festive and fun-filled afternoon. The parade will kick off at 2:00 p.m. CST and will run along Davis Street from Nova (near Kessler Theater) down toward Encina.

Monster Energy Supercross 

Don’t miss this high energy competition. Supercross is a motorcycle racing sport that takes place on indoor tracks featuring jumps and obstacles. It is a highly competitive series with some of the best riders from around the world competing for the championship title. Fun for all ages!

Dallas Blooms 

Named by Southern Living as one of “The Best Places to See Stunning Spring Blooms Across the South,” the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden presents Dallas Blooms, the largest annual floral festival in the Southwest.  The spring festival showcases an explosion of color from 100 varieties of spring bulbs, 500,000 spring-blooming blossoms, thousands of azaleas and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees.  Highlights include 500,000 spring blooming bulbs and a variety of themed programming, demonstrations and more.

Dallas Literary Festival

SMU presents the Dallas Literary Festival as a way to showcase and encourage conversations about contemporary literature, both on campus and in the larger community. This Festival brings leading literary voices to the DFW metroplex while attracting and audience that extends far beyond the walls of Dallas Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

Whiskey Riot Dallas

Here’s your chance to taste over 200 whiskies! Discovering new whiskeys can be an expensive exploration. Signage in a liquor store and the details on a bottle’s label will only tell you so much. How do you know you’re going to take home something you love? There’s no better way to find your new favorite drink than side-by-side comparison tasting.

Whiskey Riot is a large format tasting event complete with brand representatives who can answer questions, explain the nuances of what your tasting and leave you feeling armed with more whiskey knowledge.

Holi Mela Dallas Festival of Colors

Holi marks the start of Spring and welcomes life with the blooming flowers, the new leaves and so much happiness! When we all get colored, we loose all the distinctions based on economic status, religion, caste or creed, nationality. we all become one! What makes Holi – Dallas Festival of Colors special is the non-denominational inclusion of all faiths- which has led a diverse crowd of all ages and cultures. 

This event attracts 8,000 people and is the Largest Festival of Colors (Holi Mela) in North Texas.  It’s an all day event featuring Live cultural dance performances, DJs, Indian Percussion specials(DHOL), multicultural street food market, yoga and dance classes, vendors offering clothing, jewelry, local handmade items and gifts. Wear White and if you come early we give out free T shirts and Free color to the first 200 entrees.

New New Fest Musical Festival

Dallas Fort Worth’s Music Discovery Festival is held over a course of 11 days at various locations throughout the city. This festival has over 50 bands from around the World with 20 + shows at 10 locations. Some of the venues include Four Corners, Sons of Hermann Hall, and Opening Bell Coffee.

St. Patricks Day Parade

Witnessing the Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival (formerly knows as the “Greenville Ave St. Patrick’s Parade) puts you in a quasi fraternity of sorts. It’s a little like going to Mardi Gras and then again not so much. This occasion is truly unique. The parade has become the signature event of the St. Patrick’s celebration for our fair city. Many Dallasites have attended and bared witness to the evolution of this neighborhood parade from about ten pickup trucks and a couple of flatbeds to the largest St. Patrick’s parade in the Southwest.

The St Patricks Day Parade starts at Blackwell Street at 11 AM but plan to get there much earlier.

Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival

The Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival is North Texas’ most celebrated cuisine and beverage festival, taking place over four days and nights in venues around our thriving culinary community. This family-friendly reggae festival will feature unique treasures among the arts, crafts, and jewelry vendors, Caribbean-inspired food, and various artists and local reggae bands celebrating cultural equality through reggae music. Mike Frakaz, promoter for Reggae festival, says, “Reggae music brings us together, unites communities, and serves as a rallying cry when everything else seems to fall on deaf ears. Riverfront Jazz Festival

The 5th Annual Riverfront Jazz Festival in Dallas, Texas Labor Day weekend features renowed music artists from around the world performing jazz, blues, R&B. Each performance is staggered 30 minutes between acts on two main stages (Jazz Main Stage and Blues/Soul Stage). The Promising Young Artists stage is staggered 15 minutes between acts.

Addison Oktoberfest

At Addison Oktoberfest, enjoy a taste of the original Bavarian celebration with a purely Texan twist. For more than 35 years, people have donned dirndls and lederhosen (or have just come as they are) for four days of revelry in German culture, food, music and bier. Experience the sound of polka bands and other traditional entertainers on multiple stages in Addison Circle Park, and participate in special games for bier lovers, kids of all ages, dachshunds and more. Raise your favorite German stein and say, “Prost!” Addison Oktoberfest takes place Sept. 14-17.

Grapefest

GrapeFest^® is a celebration of Texas wines. Home to more than 400 wineries and 4,400 acres of vineyards producing nearly three million gallons of Texas wine each year, Texas is the fifth-largest wine-producing state in the United States. GrapeFest offers a variety of Wine Experiences that include different wine tasting opportunities. GrapeFest is family-friendly! There are plenty of options for kids if you wish to bring them along. From the Carnival & Midway to the Kidz Zone, there is something for everyone.

Autumn at the Arboretum

Love everything Fall time represents? You’ll LOVE Autumn at the Arboretum. Every year they share 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash, hailing from THE pumpkin capital of Texas, Floydada, throughout the garden. It’s a magical wonderland with a new theme each year. Once this year’s theme is announced, we will update.

Plano Balloon Fest

This weekend event offers something for everyone; entertainment on the Main Stage, special kids activities, sky divers, an enormous variety of food to tempt your taste buds, merchandise and handmade products showcased, and of course the incredible hot air balloons.

Arguably the best event in Dallas, the State Fair of Texas is month long event that you don’t want to miss. Pumpkin Patches in Dallas Forth Worth

October is one of my very favorite months because all the pumpkin patches start opening. There are tons of pumpkin patches in Dallas and each one is so different and offers something different. Dallas Pumpkin Patches are opened during various times in October and offer the best photo opps. Chefs for Farmers

Chefs For Farmers Dallas (CFF Dallas) is proud to showcase the talents of Texas’s best chefs and food artisans while celebrating the farmers that make great food possible. Since its inception in 2010, CFF Dallas has grown from an intimate farm-to-table dinner to one of the largest food and wine events in Texas. From intimate dinners to walk around tastings, there’s something for everyone!

Turtle Creek Arts Festival

The Turtle Creek Fine Arts Festival is a 2-day outdoor event with an emphasis on the visual arts and family fun presented by AFFPS, for people of all ages, races, customs, and interests. This event will feature up to 125 painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metalwork, glass blowers, jewelers, and crafters! The Festival will also offer artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, an Emerging Artists Pavilion, a children’s play area, plus festival foods and beverages with healthy alternatives.
