A staycation with friends or a partner can be a much-needed break from the daily routine and stress of work and responsibilities. It’s a chance to relax, unwind, and connect with loved ones in the comfort of your own city or hometown. It can provide an opportunity to explore new places, try new activities, and create lasting memories with those closest to you. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a full week off, a staycation allows you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, recharge your batteries, and come back feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
I recently had the opportunity to experience an incredible staycation at a serene and pretty unique location in Karen called The Brandy Bus and it was just what I needed to recharge my batteries and it was a truly unforgettable experience. I say unique because its not often that you find such a place to stay that is different from the ordinary hotel rooms.
Take a look at the bus that turned into a home.
The history of The Brandy bus by the Founder, Karen Fraser: “It was manufactured in England, and shipped to Kenya before Independence. It was operated by the Kenya Bus Service in Likoni in the 1950s, and was then acquired by my friend’s grandfather, who kept it unused in his backyard for over 30 years. He sadly passed away and before it could be towed away to be twisted into scrap metal I had it brought here to be turned into my tiny dream home. The name The Brandy Bus comes from the old Courvoisier Brandy adverts that used to be painted on the side of it.”
Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate love and romance, and there’s no better way to do it than with a staycation. Spending a relaxing and intimate day with your loved one, right at home, can be just as magical as traveling to a far-off destination. Valentine’s Day is often thought of as a holiday for romantic couples, but it’s so much more than that. In reality, Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love in all its forms, including the love between friends and family. The Brandy Bus offers a space for lovers, friends and even family to relax and rejuvenate.
From the moment I walked into The Brandy Bus, I was greeted by a peaceful and tranquil environment. The calming colors of the decor, the soft glow of the lamps, and the gentle rustling of the indoor plants all combined to create a serene atmosphere.
I took advantage of the quiet and solitude of my staycation to engage in activities that promote peace and relaxation. I engaged in a couple activities the brandy bus had to offer, calming walks as the sun went down, sitting outside to play board games as we enjoyed the bonfire followed by a long relaxing shower. The scent of lavender filled the air, and the soft lighting made me feel as if I were in a spa.
Throughout the day, I continued to cultivate this peaceful and calm environment by reading, meditating, and listening to soft music. And in the evenings, I indulged in a home-cooked meal, surrounded by the warmth of candlelight and the comfort of the soft furnishings.
In conclusion, my staycation was a haven of peace and serenity. The calming environment I created in the home allowed me to fully recharge and rejuvenate, and I left feeling refreshed and ready to tackle life’s challenges once again. If you’re looking for a way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I highly recommend treating yourself to a serene and calming staycation The Brandy Bus has to offer.
