DC Metro Kids Weekend Events: July 10-12

We’re still finding ways to have fun online, from a hip hop class guaranteed to get the wiggles out to hands-on sensory fun with the National Children’s Museum. There is also plenty to do offline, including a Drive-Thru theatrical performance in McLean and pick-your-own farms within a day’s drive of DC. Find the balance between indoor fun and outdoor exploration this weekend.

IN PERSON EVENTS

Drive-Thru Drama
“Drive-Thru Drama” is a social-distance theater format that brings people together for live theater from the comfort of their own cars. Actors will perform one, cohesive story through short solos—each approximately two minutes—across the MCC parking lot. Audience members will simply roll down their windows and drive the route from actor to actor. Because this is a new program, information on this page may change as the planning progresses. Fri. Event details.

We All Scream for Ice Cream
There is no sweeter trip than the one to the ice cream store. Hop in the car and enjoy the best summer has to offer; fresh dipped cones and ice cold pops. Check out this list for the best places to go to cool off. Activity details.

Pick Some Petals
Farms offer acres to explore while socially distancing. And the best part? You get to bring up something pretty from your day’s adventure. Check out this guide to the best pick-your-own flower farms near DC. Activity details.

Hit the Beach
Just a 40 minute drive from DC, Aquia Landing offers sandy vibes without the shore traffic. Activity details.
