It’s almost time for the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl!
Pittsburgh will take on Michigan State at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 7 p.m. And there’s a day full of fan-oriented fun leading up to the game — most of it FREE or cheap.
Whether you’re planning to attend the game, watch the Peach Bowl Parade, or just participate in some of the fan festivities, there’s plenty to do.
The Peach Bowl Parade
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Parade steps off at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30th, 2021, in downtown Atlanta. It is FREE to attend.
You can expect extravagant floats, marching bands, classic cars, cheerleaders, mascots, and more.
Parade route:
The parade starts at the intersection of Peachtree Street and Baker Street. It heads east on Baker, turns left on Centennial Park Drive, and ends at the Georgia World Congress Center, where FanFest takes place. View the route map online
Your best bet for parade-viewing is to take MARTA downtown.
Peach Bowl FanFest & Pep Rally
After the parade, you can head to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl FanFest at the Georgia World Congress Center, in Hall C.
FanFest takes place from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets are just $10 in advance online. Fees are low, adding just $1.74 to the ten-buck price, making this a great family-friendly event for winter break.
If you’ve never been to FanFest, it’s a giant indoor fan experience featuring 200,000 sq. feet of interactive attractions, like punting/passing/kicking games, obstacle courses, and zip lining.
It will also feature sponsor displays with free samples, merchandise, and live entertainment from the main stage. The highlight of the event is the pre-game pep rallies, which include the cheerleaders, bands, and mascots from both participating colleges.
The Peach Bowl Game
Game time is 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30th, 2021 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Note that there is a Clear Bag Policy in effect for the game.
Tickets are available through TicketMaster, starting at just $12 for the cheap seats. We don’t recommend shopping through other ticket resellers — but if you do, exercise caution so you can avoid fraud.
Fees were typical for TicketMaster:
Our sample order of (2) $12 tickets incurred a service fee of $2.28 per ticket (total of $4.56) and an order processingfee of $2.95. The total on the $24 order was $31.51.
Of course, you can pay more for better seats, and the fees get proportionately higher as well. Decent seats are in the $50 range, and amazing seats go for $300 and more.
Fan Night at the GA Aquarium
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Fan Night at the Georgia Aquarium will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on December 29, 2021. At 6:30 p.m., there’s a pep rally with both teams’ cheerleaders and mascots.
Tickets are $28.95 per person.
National College Football Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame is offering FREE admission for all college students (with valid ID) during winter break. The offer is good through Monday, January 2, 2022. More info here
