Jurassic Quest Drive-Through at Atlanta Motor Speedway
Jurassic Quest is America’s largest and most realistic dinosaur event with true-to-life sized dinosaurs that roar and move. Check them out from the comfort (and safety) of your own car. Here’s the scoop.
Family Zoo Yoga at Zoo Atlanta
Reach, stretch, bend, and twist! Move like an animal in this fun, interactive program geared toward families with children ages 4+. Each program includes 30-40 minutes of animal-inspired yoga poses with a certified instructor, followed by time with a Zoo educator to learn more about the featured animal and how humans are connected to wildlife and wild places. Visit the Blue Heron Nature Preserve
Blue Heron is an independently operated City of Atlanta park with miles of trails that are open and free to the public from dawn till dusk all year long. The Blue Heron building is home to a preschool and not open to the public. There is no public bathroom access, but you can check out abundant wildlife on the 3-mile Blueway Trail. Find details here.
Head to the Freedom Farmer’s Market
The market, now open year-round, offers a wide range of organic, local products including: fresh produce, grass fed meats, dairy including cheeses, yogurt, butter, milk, farm fresh eggs, handmade pasta and preserves, baked goods, coffee and more. Wear a mask, bring your own shopping bags, and observe social distancing for a fresh alternative to the grocery run. Here’s what you need to know.
Shoot the ‘Hooch
Float, spin or just kick back in bliss as you shoot the ‘Hooch in the Georgia sunshine. While many outfitters offer custom trips down the Chattahoochee, with put-ins as far as Helen, Georgia, the Nantahala Outpost in Roswell offers two distinct in-town river float trips that make your river float easy. Kids Hour Improv Class with Atlanta’s Dad’s Garage
Check out family friendly improv and stories from Atlanta’s favorite Improv Theatre, Dad’s Garage. Programming is available every hour of every day, but for the kids, you won’t want to miss a special hour of fun from 12-1 p.m., ET. Here’s the scoop.
Rock Band Land Virtual Camp
During this music, singing and video production virtual camp, campers form a band and a production team, help write an original story and song, will learn to sing the song as well as play it on their instruments (either on legitimate instruments or at-home versions, ie pots and pans drum sets), will rehearse together, and will record their vocals which will be added to a final studio version of the song. Cook with Rachael Ray & Friends
This interactive online cooking camp will bring kids and their families into the kitchen with their favorite culinary stars and celebrity guests – live, every day for a summer program you won’t want to miss. Check it out here.
Sky Night Show
